About this condition
Epilepsy is treated only as supportive care. Anti-epileptic medication must never be reduced or stopped without the treating neurologist — sudden withdrawal can trigger prolonged seizures that are themselves life-threatening. Important
Never stop or reduce anti-epileptic medication without your neurologist. A seizure lasting over five minutes is a medical emergency.
